Leaning trees are wicked. When I was a kid, we always put our tree in the corner by the staircase. It was very easy to tie the tree to the railing, to make it secure and straight. We also used copies of Reader's Digest to even out the tree stand, covering the magazine-shims with the tree skirt. Somehow we always got the most crooked tree on the lot.
